A pedestrian who was hit by a car in the west the Isle of Man on Friday has died as a result of his injuries, police have confirmed.
Geoffrey Hughes, 85, was struck on Albany Road in Peel at about 18:50 GMT.
The road was closed for a number of hours after the incident for a forensic investigation to be carried out.
Insp Michael Taylor of the Roads Policing Unit said investigations were ongoing and a person had been interviewed as part of the process.
Police previously confirmed both the driver and Mr Hughes were from the Peel area.
Urging people to avoid speculation about the incident, Insp Taylor said it was "clearly evident that Mr Hughes' passing will effect the local community as he was well known, particularly in Peel and also motorcycle circles".
Anyone who witnessed the crash, or has dashcam footage of the area between 18:40 and 18:55 has been asked to contact police.
