A deal that will see Manx Care workers receive a 6% pay rise and £1,500 consolidated sum had been agreed, Manx Care has said.

The agreement ends negotiations over the 2022-03 settlement and will be backdated to April 2022.

While the exact uplift depended on pay grade, Manx Care said the measures combined meant an average 8.75% rise.

Staff will receive the backdated payments in January,

It comes after Royal College of Nursing members voted to accept the terms last month, ending a two-year dispute.

Manx Care said it meant pay negotiations for the 2022-23 year had now been finalised for all staff.

It followed the Public Service Commission agreeing a pay award of 6%, while medical and dental staff also agreed a 6% rise coupled with a £1,000 consolidated sum.

The health care provider's chief executive Teresa Cope said she was "glad to see that our open and productive negotiations have achieved this result for our colleagues".

"It is great to see their hard work acknowledged and recognised."

A ballot over a 6% pay award offer made for the 2023-24 financial year would be issued by some employee representative groups from 22 January, Manx Care said.
