Rise in Jersey's cost of living
- Published
The cost of living in Jersey has risen at close to half the UK rate, according to States figures.
Newly released statistics show that last month produce bought in the island cost 2.8% more than it did in June 2009.
However, the retail price index (RPI) in the UK for the same period rose 5% - almost double the Jersey figure.
Increased housing, food and leisure costs in the island have contributed to the higher cost of living.
