Jersey's social housing heating updated to electric
- Published
The heating system in Jersey's social housing properties is being updated.
The States of Jersey is currently updating properties on the island as part of a £6m project.
In Clos Glosset, 116 properties are currently having electric heating installed to replace a 40-year-old oil tank.
Housing Minister Deputy Sean Power said: "It needs replacing, we have oil leaks, environmentally it's a nightmare, so we're changing."
He said: "We know from talking to people who had an old oil system that their heating bills have actually come down."
