Dragon float wins top Jersey Battle of Flowers award

Dragon Shen Lung was seen by thousands of people in the annual parade

St Clement parish has won this year's Battle of Flowers with its float of a dragon, called Shen Lung.

Second prize in the annual parade was awarded to the Optimists Club for their show boat float.

Thousands of people lined Victoria Avenue along the south of the island for the parade.

The event regularly attracts about 30,000 people each year. It was first held in 1902 as a celebration for the coronation of Edward VII.
