Jersey prison raises banned goods penalty
- Published
Tough new rules mean people bringing banned goods to prisoners at La Moye prison in Jersey could be jailed for two years.
The old rules, which date back to 1957, banned alcohol and cigarettes and had a limit of a £500 fine.
The new rules also mean items such as mobile phones will be covered by the ban.
Prison authorities hope the change will mean fewer people bring in banned goods.
