Prescription charges may be reintroduced in Jersey

Prescription charges could be reintroduced in Jersey, if a politician's proposal is accepted.
Senator Alan Breckon said such a move would help fund medical care for low earners, who would not have to pay.
The money raised would then help fund dental treatment, chiropody or opticians visits for the less wealthy.
Prescriptions in Jersey have been free of charge since February 2008. Mr Breckon has also called for an increase in social security contributions.
The senator's proposals will be considered by the States.
