Jersey senator presses for deeper spending cut

A Jersey politician has called for tougher spending cuts to save £14m over the next two years.
Senator Ben Shenton says existing measures do not go far enough and he wants States members' pay frozen and a reduction in the tourism budget.
He also wants overseas aid at the same level as 2010 and a £2m reduction in the the budget for income support.
He warned that if his amendments were not agreed, future generations would face a huge financial burden.
