The minimum wage in Jersey is set to rise next year by 12p an hour.
The 2% increase, approved by Social Security Minister Deputy Ian Gorst, will result in islanders being paid at least £6.32 an hour compared with the current rate of £6.20.
The new rate, which will be introduced in April, follows an island-wide consultation.
Deputy Gorst has also approved plans to increase the trainee wage by 2% - bringing that rate up to £4.74 an hour.
