People are being advised to fill their tanks with petrol if they are driving to France from the Channel Islands.

There have been protests and disorder in France as strike action continues over state pension reforms.

All but one of France's 12 oil refineries have stopped production as workers joined the strike, affecting petrol supplies.

Simon Edsall, managing director of Condor Ferries, said ferry crossings were operating as normal.

Condor Ferries is warning islanders that carrying extra fuel in cans is not permitted on its boats because of the fire risk it presents.
