Jersey nurses and midwives attend conference

  • Published

Nurses and midwives in Jersey are attending a conference to discuss the latest issues facing their profession.

Some 150 are expected at the specialist roadshow organised by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

It is one of several roadshows to be held around the British Isles.

It will concentrate on the current work of the Nursing and Midwifery Council, including safeguarding the public, nurse education and revalidation and fitness to practice issues.

About 15% of Jersey's nursing and midwifery workforce will be at the event at the Radisson hotel, to discuss their knowledge, skills and experience.

Rose Naylor, Jersey's Chief Nurse, said: "To combine the knowledge, skills and experience of local nurses and midwives with the professional regulator is a great opportunity not only to hear first hand about changes affecting the profession but to also discuss issues and challenges faced in practice."
