Two coastal forts in Jersey have been restored and converted into holiday accommodation by Jersey Heritage.

Lewis's Tower, in St Ouen's Bay, was built in 1835 to defend Jersey against French attack.

The granite fort and La Tour Carree, which is nearby, were converted into "stone hut accommodation" with help from the Jersey Tourism Fund.

Jersey Heritage looks after the island's castles, museums and ancient monuments.

The forts have been opened to the public so people can see the work that has been carried out.

The accommodation at the forts is basic. Lewis's Tower has electricity but no other facilities and La Tour Carree has no facilities at all.
