Jersey Post closes mobile phone company me:mo

Jersey Post has closed its mobile phone service, me:mo, transferring customers to Airtel-Vodaphone.

The company said it needed to concentrate on services such as delivering and collecting mail.

Me:mo was launched two years ago as part of Jersey Post's plans to expand into new areas.

Jersey Post said customers would stay on the same deals but will have to buy top up cards from Airtel-Vodaphone instead.

A statement from the States-owned company said me:mo was successful, but to increase the number of customers it would need to invest more money.

Jersey Post said it would now concentrate on postal services.
