Organisers say they have received many inquiries

The search is on to find a junior princess to share centre stage with Miss Battle of Flowers 2011 in Jersey.

Parades of floats covered with floral decorations form one of the Channel Islands' biggest tourist attractions.

The junior princess will join the princess and a guest personality in the parades on 11 and 12 August.

Any girl from Jersey, aged between eight and 12 years old, is eligible to take part in the competition on 26 June.

It will take place at Reg's Garden, St Brelade.

This year's winner will take over the crown from last year's junior princess Georgina Barnes.

Competition organiser Jackie Donald said: "I have already received many inquiries and I hope we get a great response as always."

Any girl interested in applying can get an entry form from the Battle of Flowers website, external.
