Jersey Water: Major mains water works planned
- Published
Jersey Water said it would be doing major work on its mains water network this year.
It means traffic delays on some of the island's busiest roads in St Helier and St Lawrence.
Work has started in St Helier where the mains will be checked and replaced in David Place, Val Plaisant and St Saviour's Road.
In October, work will start on the pipes in St Aubin's Inner Road and Millbrook in St Lawrence.
Jersey Water said it was trying to time the works to cause the least possible disruption to drivers.
Hugo Wilson, the infrastructure manager at Jersey Water, said the firm expected its new mains to last for 100 years.
