There are 180 weekend tickets left for the 2011 Jersey Live music festival, according to organisers.

There were queues of people waiting to buy tickets to the festival all day on Wednesday and organisers expect the event to sell out for the second year.

Now in its seventh year, Jersey Live starts on Saturday with more than 100 acts performing over seven stages.

Tickets for the island's largest music event are available from the Jersey Telecom shop in St Helier.

Madness and Plan B are headlining the main stage of the two-day event, with Zane Lowe and Mr Oizo in the dance arena.

Entry system

A new entry system has been set up for the festival in a bid to combat long queuing times.

In 2010, it took some people more than an hour to get into the Trinity festival ground after thousands arrived at the same time.

Security checks were eventually abandoned to ease the crush.

For the 2011 event, organisers said they will use an automated process allowing people to get their entry wristbands in less than 10 seconds.

Organisers will also be running coaches again between People's Park in St Helier and the festival site in Trinity all day on Saturday and Sunday to get people to and from the event.

There are still coach tickets left available from the shop in St Helier for £5 per day.
