Jersey man to run seven marathons in seven days

A Jersey man is aiming to raise £7,000 for a local charity by running seven marathons over seven consecutive days.
Mark Harris, 43, who is the Headway services manager, wants to raise funds for Headway Jersey.
He has run 16 marathons over the past eight years in Jersey, London and Hong Kong.
The 184 mile (296km) challenge will start on Monday 26 September and finish with the Jersey Marathon on Sunday 2 October.
Each day's run starts at 09:00 BST at Weighbridge Place, St Helier, and follows the course of the Jersey Marathon.
'Truly inspiring'
Mr Harris said: "I wanted to do something slightly different and having already finished 16 marathons and also this year completed the Greenlight Round the Rock Ultra marathon, I was up for another challenge.
"By running or walking the seven marathons, I hope to raise awareness and valuable funds for Headway and to complete an amazing personal journey.
"To some it can appear to be madness or a mid-life crisis probably, but sometimes you have to push your limits just as our members have to do every day of their lives.
"To see some of the determination and amazing improvements that some of our members have made is truly inspiring."
Mr Harris has support from James Cracknell, who won two Olympic rowing gold medals and has since taken on a number of endurance challenges.
Mr Cracknell said: "I wish Mark all the luck in the world. He's taking on a brute of a challenge!
"Running a marathon every day for a week is bad enough, but doing it on the same course each day will really push him to the limits.
"The challenge and fundraising clearly means so much to him so am convinced he'll eat it up."
Live coverage of the Jersey Marathon will be on BBC Radio Jersey on Sunday 2 October from 08:45 BST.
