Winter food appeal for elderly and vulnerable in Jersey

An appeal has been launched to collect food for vulnerable and elderly people in Jersey.
Age Concern and retail company, SandpiperCI, have started a three-week campaign for donations that will be given to people on the island.
The project hopes to donate at least 250 food hampers to people in December, organisers said.
More than 50 collection points have been set-up to receive non-perishable food items.
Chairman of Age Concern Jersey Daphne Minihane said: "The hampers will be a useful addition to elderly people who are finding it more and more difficult to make ends meet at this time of year."
