Census finds 4.7% of Jersey's population is unemployed

Unemployment in Jersey stood at 2,569 during the last census.
Data from the 2011 Jersey census showed 4.7% of the population were unemployed on 27 March.
The figure is known as the International Labour Organisation figure which is not used by the States when it talks about unemployment.
The States only counts those registered with social security, which in March was 1,310, while the census counts all those out of work.
Last month, Chief Minister Senator Ian Gorst said getting people back to work would be the highest priority for the government.
