Regulation of Jersey's taxis and cabs to be reviewed

  • Published

The way Jersey's taxis and cabs are regulated by the States could change.

The procedure for setting fares for customers was found to unclear by the Channel Islands Competition Regulatory Authority (CICRA).

The Transport and Technical Services Minister is to look at how the industry is governed after recommendations from CICRA.

Restrictions on the numbers of taxis and cabs could also be removed as part of the review.

Deputy Kevin Lewis will finalise the details of the review before islanders are given their say on the plans.
