A date for a court hearing into a fatal ferry crash off Jersey will be announced "very soon" said a prosecutor in Coutances, France.

The Condor Vitesse passenger ferry was on its way from St Malo to Jersey when it collided with Les Marquises fishing boat, a year ago.

French fisherman Philippe Lesaulnier, 42, died as a result of the collision.

A French case looking into charges of involuntary manslaughter is due "before the summer", said the prosecutor.
