A former senior manager for Guinness could sit on Jersey's new electoral commission, according to its chairman.
Colin Storm, who also worked at the top of Burger King, must be approved by all three politicians on the body.
The commission will look at types of States member, constituencies, mandates and how long they hold office for.
Its chairman, Senator Sir Philip Bailhache, also proposed Professor Ed Sallis from Highlands College and Newsnight producer Dr Jonathan Renouf.
If approved by the States, they will join the three political members, Senator Bailhache, Deputy James Baker and Constable Juliette Gallichan.
