Jersey Water have now fixed the burst main on Patier Road in St Saviour

A burst water main which left hundreds of people without water and a school closed in Jersey has been restored.

People in St Saviour were without water after the main burst shortly after 06:00 BST in Patier Road.

A spokeswoman for St Saviour's School said the decision to close the school was taken because Jersey Water had been unable to reconnect the supply.

All the mains water was returned by 15:15 BST, after parents had been instructed to collect their children.

The school spokeswoman said the school would also be closed on Thursday for the Jersey International Air Display.
