Winter flowers and plants on Jersey stamps

Jersey Post has paid tribute to a local botany expert on the release of a new set of stamps.
Margaret Long, who died last year, began research for the stamps called Frosts and Nature.
They show winter flowers and plants including Butcher's broom, Camellia sasanqua, mistletoe and snowdrops.
Melanie Gouzinis from Jersey Post said: "Margaret was a great source of information over the years and her contributions were invaluable."
Mrs Long was a Jersey plant and wildlife expert and was the secretary of the Botany Section of the Societe Jersiaise, a Jersey heritage study group.
The stamps, which are due to be issued on Tuesday, feature paintings by Michael Pollard.
The artist has previously designed Jersey Post Christmas carols stamps in 2007, children's books stamps in 2010 and some Jersey Trees for Life stamps last year.
Mrs Gouzinis added: "During the last year, we have been focussing on new stamp printing techniques and opportunities, and we enjoyed international recognition with both of our Diamond Jubilee issues.
"We hope to continue in the same vein during 2013 and are looking forward to introducing new stamp designers throughout the year."
