Jersey RNLI urges boaters to carry out engine checks

  • Published

Boaters have been urged to carry out regular checks on engines after two call-outs for Jersey's lifeboats.

The St Helier and St Catherine inshore lifeboats were both called to rescue vessels which had lost power on Sunday.

Bill Harris, St Helier's lifeboat operations manager, said: "The rescues have highlighted the importance of regular checks on engines."

He said it was particularly important early in the season, after engines had been unused during winter.
