Jersey furze fire destroys grassland

A fire near the Royal Jersey Golf Course has destroyed more than 300 sq feet (27 sq metres) of grassland.
States of Jersey Fire and Rescue were called to Gorey at about 21:40 BST after flames were spotted.
Crew commander Paul McGrath said the fire on the rough part of the golf course was likely to have been caused by a stray firework.
No nearby buildings were damaged and recent rain meant the fire was not able to spread quickly, he said.
Mr McGrath said the fire could have been a lot worse.
He said: "People have got to be very weary this time of year, barbecues, cigarettes, people must be vigilant and dispose of anything that could cause a fire."
