Jersey army reservists could get job protection

Army reservists who return to Jersey after active service could have a right to get their former jobs back under proposed new laws.
In the UK the Safeguarding Employment Act protects the jobs of reservists while they are deployed overseas, but there is nothing similar in Jersey.
The proposals have been put forward by the home affairs minister.
Major Nick Spratley, head of the island's TA unit, said it would have a positive impact on soldiers' lives.
Earlier this year he said the lack of protection was undermining recruitment efforts.
