A body has been recovered from the sea eight miles (13km) north of Jersey.

A lifeboat from Bouley Bay recovered the body after it was discovered at about 12:55 BST and it was taken to Jersey's General Hospital.

It is believed the body was in the water for "some considerable period of time", a spokesman from The States of Jersey Police said.

It is not believed to be linked to the light aircraft crash earlier in September.
