A swell made rescue attempts difficult

A kayaker has been rescued in Jersey in a "tricky" operation after getting into difficulties while at sea with a group.

Rescue services were alerted at about 11:30 GMT after the woman got into difficulties near Beauport.

She was rescued from rocks by Jersey Fire and Rescue's inshore rescue boat and the St Helier lifeboat.

A large swell made rescue attempts difficult, emergency crews said. The woman was treated for an injury to her leg.
