Jersey residents could get tax cuts to help with cost of living

The rise in the cost of living in Jersey has pushed the States to consider easing the financial burden on households in the upcoming budget.

Figures released by the island's statistics department show increases in the cost of food, housing and travel.

Treasury Minister Philip Ozouf said they would be able to "provide tax cuts to 84% of the population".

The 2015 Budget, out in July, will focus on giving people "the confidence to invest and improve their lives".
