Jersey Water raises bills for the 12th year in a row

The cost of water will go up by 1% in Jersey from 1 April.

Jersey Water said it was the 12th year in a row that prices had increased, but stressed the rise was still below inflation.

The company said: "Over the past decade the cost of metered water has actually fallen, if you take into account inflation."

Jersey Water wants 90% of homes to be on a meter in the next four years. Three quarters of homes now have one.
