Jersey will have an increase in affordable living

More than 300 people will benefit from social housing by 2016, Jersey's Housing Department has said.

The Lesquendes development in St Brelade will provide an extra 79 affordable homes, bringing the total across the island to 313.

Housing minister Deputy Andrew Green said: "The new build will meet the current and future social housing needs."

Work on phase one has already begun, with phase two rolling out next year.
