Glasgow 2014 ambassador and Olympic medallist Tom Daley brought the Queen's Baton back to British shores at a packed welcoming ceremony in Jersey.

Hundreds of athletes and fans turned out to greet Tom Daley and Jersey shot-putter Zane Duquemin as they carried the baton into St Aubin.

Tom Daley said he was honoured to carry the baton: "I’m so pleased I got to play a part in the relay – what a great thing to be a part of."

Young Jersey athletes Robbie Jones and Fran Stubbings, both aged 12, carried the baton around St Aubin with Tom Daley and Zane Duquemin.

Tom Daley said: "Feeling the commitment of the young athletes I had the opportunity to meet makes the Commonwealth Games feel very real."

Tom Daley met aspiring young athletes earlier in the day to talk about his journey to becoming a professional athlete.

Tom Daley stopped to pose for photos with fans after handing over the baton in St Aubin.
