St Helier man, 62, seriously injured on Albert Street

A 62-year-old man suffered a serious head injury after being involved in an altercation in St Helier, police have said.

The man was taken to hospital after the incident on Albert Street at about 17:00 GMT on Sunday.

He was later flown to Southampton for further treatment, Jersey Police said.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of grave and criminal assault and later released on bail.

Officers have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
