Three Jersey tech schemes win funding

Air Rescue Channel Islands Limited has plans to integrate drones into local emergency services

Three tech projects have been awarded up to £75,000 each in a scheme to help and encourage local innovators.

Recipients of the Digital Jersey-run Impact Jersey scheme include a project integrating drone technology into local emergency services.

The creation of a map showing Jersey's carbon storage capability and sensors to help cut energy bills and evaluate flood risk are the other two schemes.

The Impact Jersey scheme was launched in the summer.

It offers local innovators the opportunity to address one or more of eight strategic priorities.

These are climate change, housing, transport, health, supply chain resilience and skills, as well as productivity in existing sectors and development of new economic sectors.

The first wave of successful projects are:

• Air Rescue Channel Islands Limited: Drone Emergency Services with £74,734

• Andium Homes, supported by IoT CI: Realtime Sensor IoT Project with £74,900

• William Church Consulting: Jersey's Journey to Net Zero Carbon Project with £72,480

Impact Jersey will over the coming years award up to a total of £20m, funded by the Government of Jersey.
