Islanders urged to add voice to Jersey's music manifesto

Jersey hopes a music manifesto will create a "unified voice of the music sector"
Islanders are being invited to contribute to the creation of a music manifesto for Jersey.
The government said the aim of the document was to create a "unified voice of the music sector".
An independent UK music expert is working with musicians and other stakeholders in Jersey on a first draft.
Islanders need to join the Creative Island Partnership, external (CIP) in order to have their say on the manifesto.
The Minister for Economic Development, Tourism, Sport and Culture, Deputy Kirsten Morel, said he hoped all islanders who are involved in music either professionally or as a leisure pursuit would want to contribute.
He said: "Music is an important element and an invaluable part of island life."
The minister said the document intended to set the values and aims of the music community, which would in turn inform government actions and initiatives to develop and support the music sector.
CIP members are expected to be asked to give their views on the draft music manifesto at the end of November.
