The government said vaccination services would continue to be available for islanders through rock-up clinics

Vaccinations for Covid-19 will be delivered in primary care settings such as local GP practices from 2024, the government has said.

The vaccination centre at Fort Regent will also close as part of a decision made in the 2024-2027 Government Plan.

The government said vaccination services would continue to be available for islanders through rock-up clinics.

Public Health said it was working closely with primary care "on the details of the future service".

Prof Peter Bradley, director of Public Health, said the move "signifies how far we have come since the first vaccines were delivered".

He said: "Colleagues at the vaccination centre played an important part in the island's response to Covid-19 and have delivered over 289,000 vaccinations.

"We are incredibly grateful for all their good work and dedication to keeping islanders safe during the pandemic."

Moving the vaccination centre out of Fort Regent will "make way for alternative uses of the Queen's Hall as part of plans to improve the fort for islanders", the government said.
