All dogs in Jersey over the age of six months must be licensed
Dog owners in Jersey can now buy a licence for their pets online.
The new online service at doglicences.je, external would also allow dog owners to self-manage their record, said licencing bosses.
The website would continue to work alongside existing paper application systems and users would receive annual renewal reminders by email, they added.
Under Jersey law, all dogs over the age of six months must be licensed at a cost of £10 per dog per year.
Chairman of the Comité des Connétables Mike Jackson said: "The online system provides a simple, streamlined experience to apply and pay for a dog licence.
"We hope the new service will reduce barriers to creating and renewing licences and increase parishioner satisfaction."
Dogs trained to assist blind or deaf people were exempt from licensing, officials said.
