Jersey Water said there was no evidence of a leak
Police and water bosses said they were investigating after a sink hole appeared in a Jersey road.
Jersey Water confirmed it had carried out an "exploratory assessment" on Victoria Street, St Helier, after the hole appeared on Tuesday.
It said there was "no evidence" of a leak, with re-surfacing works due for completion by 20:00 GMT on Wednesday.
States of Jersey Police said the road was closed and it was "looking into the incident".
