Minister refuses to share messages on chair's exit

The health minister for Jersey has declined to publish correspondence about the resignation of the chair of the health advisory board.
Tom Hayhoe left the board after just one meeting, with health minister Deputy Tom Binet citing "differences in working styles".
In an official question, Deputy Jonathan Renouf asked Mr Binet to publish details of background correspondence.
Mr Binet has since declined to do so.
In a written question submitted on 8 April, Mr Renouf said: "Will the minister publish all correspondence between himself and others regarding the recent departure of the chair of the Health and Community Services Advisory Board, including correspondence received by the minister regarding the chair?"
Mr Binet has now responded: "I am not prepared to publish correspondence relating to the recent departure of the chair of the Health and Community Services Advisory Board because the correspondence contains personal information."
The board was set up in 2023 to help improve the standards of care provided to islanders.
The board will remain without a permanent chairperson for the next year, the health minister announced this month.
