Sebastián Piñera at rescue of trapped Chilean miners

The rescue of 33 miners trapped beneath the Atacama desert brought Chile to worldwide attention.

President Sebastián Piñera, who died in a helicopter crash in the south of the country on Tuesday, witnessed the emotional event.

This video shows him at the rescue of miner Florencio Avalos, the first man to be brought to the surface amidst cheers and applause.
