FBI followed protocol over Boston suspect, says US congressman

US Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger says the FBI did nothing wrong in its handling of information about one of the Boston bombing suspects.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev was flagged after Russian authorities suspected him of plotting an attack there.

An FBI preliminary investigation found no evidence of a threat to the US, and the file was closed.

Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger of the committee on intelligence told reporters the FBI had followed "standard procedure".
