Police bodycam footage shows attack on Paul Pelosi

San Francisco police have released footage showing officers arriving at Paul Pelosi's home and an intruder attacking him with a hammer before being tackled to the ground.

The husband of former US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi needed surgery to repair a skull fracture and injuries to his right arm and hands after the assault.

He was discharged from hospital six days later.
