Donald Trump and Nikki Haley react to DeSantis election withdrawal

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced he has dropped out of the 2024 US presidential race.

In a speech on Sunday, he endorsed his Republican rival and former president Donald Trump, rather than Nikki Haley, Trump's only remaining opponent.

After Mr DeSantis' announcement, Mr Trump responded by complimenting his former rival as a "very capable person".

Haley also reacted to DeSantis' announcement, saying that "there's two people in this race" and "may the best woman win".
