New Miss USA crowned after previous winner resigns
Savannah Gankiewicz has been crowned Miss USA 2023 after her predecessor, Noelia Voigt, recently resigned citing mental health issues. UmaSofia Srivastava, Miss Teen USA, also stepped down. Both their mothers spoke out saying their daughters had been "ill-treated, abused, bullied and cornered", and asked for an apology from the Miss Universe Organization.
Ms Gankiewicz, who takes the crown for the remaining two and a half months, is a Maui native and aims to spotlight Lahaina wildfire victims during her term.
