The actor speaks at a press conference for his latest film Long Way Down

Aaron Paul says he has "never been this busy" after the success of Breaking Bad.

His success is attributed to the critically-acclaimed hit series, where he plays one of the main characters, crystal meth dealer Jesse Pinkman.

But he says the show has led to more opportunities, for the time being at least.

"Who knows?" the 34-year-old said. "It might well slow down but I hope it doesn't. We shall see."

His latest film also sees him in a serious role. A Long Way Down is about four people contemplating suicide.

"It sounds really depressing but it's actually a really good uplifting story," he said.

Filmed in London, the four characters meet on a roof-top one New Year's Eve as they all think about taking their own lives.

The storyline, based on a novel by Nick Hornby, sees them all become good friends, which also happened in real life too.

The four main members of the cast - Toni Collette, Pierce Brosnan, Imogen Poots and himself - became "inseparable" according to Paul.

"We were always together at lunch every single day," he said. "At night after work we would all tend to have dinner together.

"It says a lot really about the story we were telling.

"You know we were playing these characters the entire time we were on set and we just had this incredible bond. It was a beautiful thing."

Imogen Poots and Aaron Paul attend the US premiere of Need for Speed

The other film Aaron Paul is in at the moment, The Need for Speed, was released last week.

British actress and Long Way Down co-star Imogen Poots appears alongside him again.

"I got the offer to do Need for Speed and they wanted her to do the female lead and she came with me," he said.

"It took a lot of convincing."

Talking about Breaking Bad, Paul still has a lot to say about the show that made him a star.

"With the new way of people watching TV, a lot of people are just joining in," he said.

"I meet people now on a daily basis who are just starting the show, so the fan base is constantly growing. It's keeping the show alive."

Long Way Down is in cinemas from 21 March.
