Usually Kanye West needs little invitation to take to a stage at an awards show, but this time it's official.

It's been confirmed the artist will perform at the 2015 Brit Awards, which is taking place at The O2 in London.

The show's line-up is already looking pretty healthy, with acts like Taylor Swift, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran and Take That already in.

For the second year the awards will be streamed across the world on YouTube.

Candice Morrissey, Head of YouTube Music Partnerships across Europe said: "Kanye West tops off an amazing set of performers at this year's Brit Awards with some of the biggest British and global stars taking the stage.

"We're excited to partner with the Brits again this year so anyone outside of the UK who can't tune in on TV can watch their favourite artists live on the Brits YouTube channel."

Performances will also be available on Google Play Music after the show, with Google Play donating to War Child and The Brit Trust every time a song is streamed or downloaded.

Other performers include Paloma Faith, George Ezra and Royal Blood.

Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith go head-to-head for Wednesday night's biggest prize, album of the year.

They also face off in the best British male, best single and best video categories.
