How these music festival line-ups look without all-male bands

Seen these posters showing how some of the UK's biggest music festivals would look without all-male bands?

The edited images have been shared by thousands of music fans on social media.

It all began with before and after versions of the bill at this year's events at Reading and Leeds.

Without Metallica, Mumford and Sons and The Libertines it all looks rather empty.

Now the line-ups at T in the Park and Download - also featuring big blank areas - are doing the rounds.

Music blog Crack in the Road first posted the images. Let's take a closer look at what they revealed.

This is Reading and Leeds with the men included

And this is when just bands with female members are left

It all gets a bit, um, spacious. Rock band Marmozets, from Bingley in west Yorkshire, become the overall headliners.

They have one female member, Becca Macintyre.

This is T in the Park with the men included

But take away the likes of Kasabian, David Guetta, Sam Smith, Noel Gallagher, Jamie T, Mark Ronson and Hozier...

And T in the Park just with bands with at least one female...

Congratulations Jessie Ware and Jessie J. And a cheery wave to Radio 1's Annie Mac.

This is the situation at rock festival Download...

Funnily enough all that remains in the top half of the bill at Download is a rock band called All That Remains, with one female member.

'White boy domination'

So it all feels like the diversity debate is a 2015 "thing" now doesn't it?

We had the "all-white" Oscars row earlier this month. And there's no doubt diversity will be a theme at Wednesday night's Brits.

In January, double Brit nominees Clean Bandit talked all about it to Newsbeat.

Grace Chatto, who pointed out that Brit nominees Jess Glynne and Jessie Ware were having a "great year", said: "I was kind of surprised because there have been big female singers this year.

"I wonder why that [more male acts being nominated] is. I don't think it's because they're men, is it?

Milan replies: "Well, I think it has been the year of the white man, which is quite depressing isn't it?"
