Rihanna, Kim Kardashian appear on Met Gala red carpet in New York

The invitation for this year's Met Gala said the theme was China.
Enter Rihanna, who took to the red carpet in a fur-trimmed yellow cape with a train so long it needed three people to help carry it.
The singer had the grand staircase at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art all to herself after turning up late.
The ensemble was designed by Chinese designer Guo Pei.
Beyonce was also late and wore a peekaboo custom Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci covered in multicoloured crystals and stones.
Tickets cost $25,000 (£16,500) each with the cash going towards funding Vogue editor Anna Wintour's costume museum.
Kim Kardashian most certainly embraced the evening's vibe - in a revealing, low-cut gown with an East motif done by Peter Dundas for Roberto Cavalli, the designer's first for the house.
Her little sister Kendall Jenner opted for Calvin Klein, sparkling in green with sexy laces on each side.
Sarah Jessica Parker, who made a splash on the red carpet last year in a custom Oscar de la Renta, donned a fiery head piece with long side tassels that towered high above her black gown.
And then there's this dress from Solange Knowles...
And this one from Zendaya...
British model and singer Karen Elson (Jack White's ex-wife) even wore a crown. It's Dolce &Gabbana don't you know.
Jennifer Lopez wore red Versace with side panels that left little to the imagination and held hands with Donatella Versace on the red carpet.
Anne Hathaway shimmered in a sleek hooded body-skimmer from Ralph Lauren in keeping with the theme.
Maybe she was also channelling Princess Leia on the fourth of May? You know the rest.
Diane Kruger, who tucked a flower behind one ear, wore a beaded Chanel top and sheer blush trousers.
She was there with partner Joshua Jackson.
Katie Holmes, in a temporary bob, wore a Zac Posen sparkly blue gown with cutouts at the back.
Justin Bieber showed up in a black jacket slithering with gold dragons by fashion house Balmain.
A bird of paradise adorned the bottom of former Glee actress Dianna Agron's one-shoulder Tory Burch gown.
Here's Cara Delevingne's outfit (FYI - the tattoos are fake and her outfit is courtesy of Stella McCartney) and some of the other stars who attended.
The stars were told not to use social media. That didn't stop this lot by the looks of it...
