Meek Mill calls Drake's diss track 'baby lotion soft'

In the land of hip-hop there are several unwritten laws all rappers must abide by.
Thou shalt not wear fake bling. Thou shalt always keep it real. And most importantly, Thou shalt write your own bars.
Breaking these rules won't result in a fine or jail term.
If a rapper is lucky their credibility takes a hit. If they're unlucky the damage means bye bye rap career.
So, spare a thought for Drake who's been accused of letting another rapper hold his pen.
Drake is without doubt the hottest property in rap at the moment.
So it came as a shock, when the Canadian hit machine was accused of hiring a ghost writer, for a verse in a track which appeared on Meek Mill's album.

In an interview with 1Xtra DJ Charlie Sloth, at Hot 97's Summer Jam concert in June, Meek Mill expressed his disgust at rappers who don't write their own material.

Meek Mill, who's currently dating Nicki Minaj, claimed if he'd found out sooner that Drake hadn't penned the verse himself, it would have never got on the album.

There's an ongoing joke in rap circles about how 'soft' Drake is.
Merely because of the fact he's not shy when it comes to making songs talking about his failed relationships or his feelings.
And for the most part Drake has kept quiet since being accused of not writing his own songs.
That all changed on Sunday night when the 28-year-old released Charged Up.
Although he didn't say Meek Mill's name the overwhelming feeling is that the lyrics were aimed firmly in Meek's direction.
And while there's no surprise that the internet went crazy for the song. Meek Mill was less than impressed by Drake's effort.

This whole situation is made all the more interesting by the fact that Drake and Nicki Minaj are signed to the same label. There have been reports linking the pair romantically too.
And provided this doesn't escalate beyond the vocal booth, hip-hop fans could be in for a treat.
Rap music, by its very origin and essence, is about two razor-tongued MCs going bar for bar. So now the ball is in Meek's court or rather the microphone is in his hands.
He's rumoured to be releasing his own diss track on Monday, so watch this space ...
